Double the art at Gallery XII

Founded 40 years ago, Wichita’s oldest artist coop has doubled its exhibit space at 412 E. Douglas. The expanded galleries will allow for 10 to 12 rental spaces in addition to rotating exhibits by the 24 member artists, according to John Ellert, gallery president.

While it’s a trip down memory lane for parents, children also delight in trying to draw on the world’s largest Etch-A-Sketch or playing vintage video arcade games. Visitors to Exploration Place’s Toytopia traveling exhibit can also tour a life-size doll house, build a fort, experiment with LEGOs, and learn how toys are made and which ones were most popular every decade. The exhibit is included with general admission and is on display until Jan. 1, 2019.
